Kentucky Residents Directory is not a government office or records custodian. We cannot retrieve or certify a record, confirm a current address, or edit a government roll. Send those requests to the county, court, or state office that holds the file. Call 911 for an emergency. If you are being stalked or harassed, contact local law enforcement.
Reach the Record Keeper
Kentucky has no single statewide public-records desk. Under the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870-61.884, send a written request to the official custodian for the agency and county that hold the record. These starting points route common requests:
- Property owner or street records: contact the county PVA and county clerk listed through the Kentucky DOR local-official directory
- Historical directories and former addresses: ask a local library or the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives about its collections
- One person's public record: use the relevant state or county custodian, with limits described in the Kentucky resident lookup
- Vital records: contact the Kentucky Office of Vital Statistics for records it holds, or the county clerk/circuit clerk for earlier events
- A file not posted online: identify the record, county, and date range, then write to that custodian under the Kentucky Open Records Act when it applies
